Cost of Comparison

When considering senior care options, the ability to afford the costs are typically of the top concerns. We understand that everyone’s finances are different. A tool that we recommend is our Cost of Comparison worksheet. It will help you outline the costs of your current living situation versus Riley Crossing living expenses.

Guide for Elderly Caregiving

Every family is unique, and your family’s needs may differ from those of others. But most families share some things in common when caring for an elderly loved one. Fill out this form fill for a complimentary guide that will help you answer those common questions we all have.

For example: Is what is happening to my loved one normal? Is my loved one safe living at home? When do I or other family members need to step in for the sake of our loved one? What type of housing would be best for our loved one? How do we pay for long-term care?

Tips for Caregivers:

  • Talk with a doctor, health care professional or geriatric care manager if you start to sense a decline in your loved one’s physical, emotional, mental or social health.
  • Make sure that you have a backup plan in place for your loved one should you become ill or need care. Do not wait for a crisis to create a plan.
  • Check your loved ones needs regularly to track changes and adjust care as needed. It is possible for your loved one to become suddenly more dependent—for example, after an injury or illness. It is also possible for your loved one to regain some independence after treatment and rehabilitation.
  • Make sure to take care of yourself. Often times we find that caregivers health deteriorates faster than the individual that’s receiving the care. Talk to family, support systems and give yourself permission for self-care.
