Riley Crossing Senior Living celebrates nature and wellness in all its forms. From made-from-scratch meals to the use of essential oils to enhance wellbeing, daily exercise programs to improve mobility, flexibility and balance, engaging activities and spiritual programs, we focus on all the ways we can maintain healthy living.
Our Activity Director, Angela Truitt is the leader in charge of planning all activities and exercises below. She also holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and is currently licensed in the state of Minnesota.
“Chair Yoga with Kaia” x2/week (currently Monday & Saturday) – 1-hour session
“Exercise 101 with Angela” x1/week – 45 min. – This includes the following: Joint Range of Motion, Muscle Strength, Posture, Balance and Cardiac Endurance. See attachment for session goals and explanations
“Bone Builders” x1/week – 45 min – Light residence training using weights, resistance bands and gym equipment to assist with muscle strengthening and increase bone density (per current research)
“New Year, New You” x1/month – 1 hour – Speaker Series with Dietician Rebecca Kapsen, RDN, LDN.
“Intergen Walking Groups”- 2 or 3 times/month – 15min. Residents and childcare ambulate or roll the halls and common spaces together during various activities/scavenger hunts/residential deliveries
“Sit & Fit”—Daily – Seated movement groups
“Stretch & Grow”- 2 fitness classes/month: “Fitness Stars”- Where Fitness Meets Fun! Intergenerational Exercise Classes
